slovenija, croatia, srbia, bosnia, montenegro, kosovo etc. will never reunite in a yugo state, just as austria-hungary (including bohemia, moravia, south tyrol etc.) will not reunite. and most politicians should better be replaced with monkeys. but that just aint gonna happen. but you can keep dreaming of course...

Stop and consider God
by StopTheTears inis there really a god?
is there really a divine creator or did the universe around us just "evolve?
" what an incredible thought to even imagine that there could be a supernatural being so powerful as to create a universe.

"Local Needs" Talks: The people who should really hear them are never there.
by Open mind inmy whole life as a jw i've heard this refrain.
"too bad so-and-so wasn't here for that local needs talk.".
as an elder i would have a hard time putting my heart into writing up a local needs talk that was targeting one or two congregation members, knowing full well they probably wouldn't be there to hear it.. .

they had a few local needs talks targetted at me and usually i was there (i was always there, with the exception of the odd heavy metal concert i didn't want to miss).
a few talks where about haircuts, then music, then language, then independent thinking, one time an elder even stated that those who only read the bible would go apostate within a few weeks (now there's some truth to that...)

Translate The Bible Properly!
by Mat inthe trouble with english bible translations is none of them are correct!
i know something is bound to be lost in any translation, but the bible has so much faith invested in it by religious groups that it is translated wrongly by all of them.
what we need is a translation done by a team of atheists.

even worse: when a english "translation" like the NWT is translated back into say german, or any other language instead of translating from the source language.
